Irish Dancing

Every Tuesday Mrs. Crean provides Irish Dancing lessons to all class levels.

National Childrens Choir

Every two years our fifth and sixth class pupils take part in the National Childrens ‘Choir. This involves the girls learning a repertoire of  approximately 22 songs with up to four part harmony. The repertoire is taught by teachers in the school. The year’s work culminates in a public concert where our girls are joined by pupils from other schools and they all perform accompanied by an orchestra.

Pupils in fourth class take part in a 12 week swimming course in St. Raphaels.

Pupils in Third Class are provided with a six week cycling safety programme.

Junior Achievement

Each year a selection of classes get the opportunity to participate in the Junior Achievement Ireland programme. Junior Achievement Ireland is part of a worldwide non-profit organisation which, through developing partnerships with schools and leading organisations, uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand business and enterprise. The programmes are 5-6 weeks in duration. Business volunteers visit the classroom once a week and teach a structured programme supported by the class teacher.

School Concert

Every two years we hold a school concert in June.  All classes take part, the next one will be in  June 2016

Every Friday the sixth class presents a weekly school radio programme keeping everyone updated on school happenings.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Every year we celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge with an array of Irish songs, poetry, drama and dancing. Gach bliain i rith seachtain na Gaeilge déanann gach rang iarracht Gaeilge a rá i rith an lae. Bíonn céilí mór againn sa halla. Tagann an scoil go léir le chéile. Déanann gach rang damhsa Gaeilge. Baineann gach duine sult is taitneamh as an ócáid speisialta seo.

Green Schools

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! This year a group of teachers parents and pupils are working very hard towards leading the whole school in achieving our fifth Green Flag. This flag is for bio diversity.

Rainbows facilitates children who have experienced a loss, whose parents have separated or who have experienced the death of a family member or close loved one. This programme is available for pupils of the school. For further information see posters on noticeboard.
